James recently delivered two ground-breaking series for US broadcasters: Patagonia – Life on the Edge of the World for CNN and Arctic Ascent with Alex Honnold for National Geographic/Disney+. Both projects combined high-end production values with environmental storytelling and are a continuation of his commitment to making entertaining, impactful content.

James began his career at the BBC’s Natural History Unit before working on the acclaimed anthropological series Tribe. James was part of the BAFTA-winning team that made Amazon with Bruce Parry, and series produced the follow-up series on the Arctic. He has led expeditions in the Congo Basin and Alaska for BBC1 and Discovery respectively. James is currently overseeing The Devil’s Climb for Disney+, which follows American climbers Alex Honnold and Tommy Caldwell on a challenging Alaskan adventure.
