Mark heads up Plimsoll’s world renowned natural history department, leading the division’s strategic and creative direction, steering its editorial vision and overseeing the department’s development group.
He joined the company in 2023 after spending more than 20 years at the BBC’s Natural History Unit, show running landmark series such as Blue Planet II and Frozen Planet II.
Since joining Plimsoll, he has pushed for genre busting, entertainment first premium natural history programmes and at an affordable price point. As executive producer, he oversaw BBC1’s Secret Garden with Sir David Attenborough which became the most popular new unscripted show of ‘26. Also for the BBC, he is working on a wildlife Christmas Special with the king of romcoms, Richard Curtis.
Mark continues Plimsoll’s close ties with Disney+/Nat Geo, with Secret’s of the Backyard in production and more to follow. Mark also oversaw Netflix’s Nightmares of Nature, a horror-nature hybrid developed with Blumhouse Television.
With environmental storytelling close to his heart, Force of Nature launched this Earth Day on ITV, the bold and gripping story of nature’s fight back against today’s extreme weather.
Mark also recently produced Horse Power, Plimsoll’s first foray into IMAX, currently playing out in giant screen theatres across North America and China.
