As creative director of natural history, Mark is tasked with driving new commissions and overseeing projects in production. Since joining Plimsoll last year, Mark has helped deliver ‘Incredible Animal Journeys’, now playing on National Geographic/Disney+, and is working on multiple series for Netflix, BBC and ITV, along with a giant screen on horses.

Mark has a twenty five year track record in delivering premium natural history titles, with multiple BAFTA/EMMY awards to his name. As series producer of BBC’s ‘Blue Planet II’, he employed ground-breaking technology and environmental storytelling to give an entirely new understanding of life beneath the waves. BP2 went on to become the most watched wildlife TV programme of all time and was credited with galvanising action around ocean plastics. As Executive Producer of ‘Frozen Planet II’, Mark continued his commitment to making entertaining, impactful high end blue chip, and ventured to Antarctica to direct its seminal ‘wave-washing’ killer whale sequence.

Other BBC credits include Executive Producer of ‘Eden: Untamed Planet’, ‘Earth’s Tropical Islands’ and Series Producer of ‘Hidden Kingdoms’. He has also directed three award winning giant screen films- Tiny Giants (originated in 3D), ‘Oceans: Our Blue Planet’ and most recently ‘Arctic; Our Frozen Planet’.
